Azee 1000 Mg

Azee 1000 (Azithromycin) tablet is an antibiotic drug which is prescribe in the treatment of infections cause by a variety of bacteria. It has the advantage of once-daily dosing. This tablet is not prescribed for use in case of a common cold, flu, or other viral infections since it is active against infections caused by bacteria only.

Tablet Uses

• Community acquired pneumonia
• Pharyngitis/tonsillitis
• Ear infection (otitis media)
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Cat scratch disease
• Gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis
• Nongonococcal urethritis and cervicitis etc.

1. Community acquired pneumonia:
   tablet is recommend in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia which is the most common type of lung infection due to bacteria.
2. Pharyngitis/tonsillitis
   medicine is recommend to treat a sore throat or pharyngitis (an inflammation of the throat due to bacteria or smoking). The most common symptoms of this condition include: difficulty in swallowing,  cough, runny nose, fever with chills, etc.
3. Ear infection:
   Azee 1000 medicine is recommend in the diagnosis of otitis media which is an infection of the middle ear with symptoms like: ear pain, a headache, ringing in the ears, loss of balance. Etc.
4. Skin and soft tissue infections
   Azee 1000 tablet is prescrib in the diagnosis of skin and soft tissue infections characterized by abdominal pain, fever with chills, redness around hair follicles, yellowish rash, muscle pain, etc.
5. Cat scratch disease
   Azee1000 tablet prescribed for diagnosis of cat scratch disease, which is an infection due to the bacterium bartonella henselae through the bite or scratch of a cat. It occurs within one to two weeks after the cat bite. This condition may be characterized by: pain, headache, fever, skin rashes, swollen lymph nodes near the site of the bite or scratch or most commonly on the neck.
6. Gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis
   Azee 1000 tablet is prescribed for the diagnosis of urethritis (inflammation of the urethra) and cervicitis (inflammation of cervix) due to neisseria gonorrhoeae.
7. Nongonococcal urethritis and cervicitis:
   Azee 1000 tablet is recommended for the diagnosis of urethritis (inflammation of the urethra) and cervicitis (inflammation of cervix) which may be due to Chlamydia trachomatis, ureaplasma ueralyticum etc.

When not to use

Liver damage

Azee 1000 tablet is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic impairment due to prior use of this medicine.

• Hypersensitivity

Azee 1000 tablet is not prescribed for use in patients with a known allergy to azithromycin, any other macrolides, or any other inactive components present along with it.

Azee 1000mg tablet: Dosage

• Overdose:

Seek emergency medical attention or contact the physician in case of an overdose.

• Missed dose:

The missed dose Azee 1000 tablet should be consumed as soon as possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is near to time for your next scheduled dose. Do not consume extra tablet to fulfill the missed dose.

• Excessive air or gas in stomach
• Heartburn
• Acid or sour stomach
